Tuesday, 17 October 2023 - several areas in Bojonegoro are facing a serious drought crisis, which has resulted in clean water difficulties for thousands of residents. However, in the midst of these difficulties, the Ziswaf and Social Institution known as Baitul Maal BMT NU Ngasem together with MWC NU NGASEM and Banom NU in commemoration of Santri Day 2023 have moved quickly to provide much needed assistance to communities experiencing drought. One of the areas in Bojonegoro is Ngasem and Mediyunan villages, Ngasem sub-district, Bojonegoro Regency. They have mobilized a team of volunteers and resources to overcome this crisis.
One of the main steps taken by MWC NU NGASEM and Baitul Maal BMT NU Ngasem is to provide or supply clean water to affected residents. They have brought water tanks, water filter machines and other equipment to ensure an adequate supply of clean water. Apart from that, Baitul Maal BMT NU Ngasem also provides food assistance and basic necessities to families affected by the drought.
Director of Baitul Maal BMT NU Ngasem, Mr. Sholihin, said, "We feel called to help residents who are experiencing difficulties due to drought. Water is the basic right of every individual, and we are committed to ensuring that they get it. Even though it is not yet comprehensive, we from the Baitul Maal BMT NU Ngasem Team want to invite all aspects of society to participate in helping, by spreading kindness and providing donations whose aim is to help our brothers and sisters in need."
The positive reaction from residents and aid recipients has become an incentive for Baitul Maal BMT NU Ngasem to continue carrying out humanitarian efforts this. They also collaborate with MWC NU NGASEM participants, we hope that more parties will contribute to this effort so that the impact of drought can be immediately minimized.
The initiatives carried out by Baitul Maal BMT NU NGASEM and MWC NU Ngasem are clear examples of how Ziswaf and social institutions can play an important role in overcoming social and natural crises.
